we are all made of stars.

Daddy is in Bombay for work. He's producing an ad for Bangladesh. Now, the ad is for corrugated iron roofs. It was in Bengali, and they needed a female voice for the dubbing. They were working on a low budget, and since a regular professional would charge too much and had to say just one line, Daddy asked me if I would do it. Seeing how we are Bengali,it would make things a lot easier, since I'd have the correct accent and everything. Of course, I said yes.

While Aditya and Sanjay were running the sound checks, I was reading through the male parts so I'd know the context of the sentence I had to say. The script was so terrible! I guess you'd have to understand the rural life in the Indian subcontinent to really *get* the ad, but suffice to say that he compares his wife to the corrugated iron!!! HEHEHE!!! And it isn't meant to be funny!!! I was trying so hard not to crack up while reading the script. Oh also, I sound really young on a mic, which is good cause they needed a very naive female voice.

That was fun. I love being in recording studios. It was the first time I had to speak so it was a little different, but not very. It was actually the closest thing to acting I've done in a very long time. I enjoyed that aspect of it thoroughly. I usually hate the way my voice sounds but it really didn't sound too bad today. I can't wait to see the finished ad. It can't be much worse than seeing a well-endowed Disney character sing in my voice, can it?!

deja vu? | jamais vu?
